Mary Ann (offten called polly) was killed at the age of 30-35, Agust 31 1888. At about 23:00 on 30 August, Nichols was seen walking the Whitechaple Road. At around 00:30 Agust 31 she was seen walking out of the pub in Brick Lane.She was last seen alive standing at the corner of Osborn Street and Whitechapel Road at approximately 02:30 (one hour before her death) by her roommate, Emily Holland. At the time og 03:40 a cart driver named Charles Allen Lechmere (who also used the name Charles Cross) discovered Mary Ann Nichols lying on the ground in front of a gated stable entrance in Buck's Row(since renamed Durward Street) spotted her with her skirt was raised. Another passing cart driver on his way to work, Robert Paul, approached and Cross pointed out the body. When the police came to check the body the discoverd something horrific. Her throat hadd been sliced twice, from left and right and her lower feminie area had been cut up to her stomach.
